My name is Helen, I'm married Nick and have a daughter Holly and two stepdaughters Francesca and Isabella, plus our gorgeous dog Elsia. As you can see Nick has a very busy life looking after us all! 

Just over 27 years ago I joined Lunn Poly in Otley what was Tui as Youth Trainee on their YTS program. I loved my time at Prince Henry's in Otley, but I didn’t want to stay on to do A levels or go to college...

I have been so lucky and have loved working in travel, it is exciting, interesting & rewarding. I started when I was 16 and went on to work for the same company for nearly 18 years. I was very lucky and travelled the world whilst working there. Looking for a change I joined Jet2holidays and worked in the trade team as a Business Development Manager and Regional Sales Manager. I worked with amazing independent travel agencies and learnt so much. Working in this role really boosted my confidence and increased my knowledge about other parts of the travel industry, so much so that in 2017 I opened the doors to my very own travel agency Arundel Travel - a dream come true!

There aren’t many people who can say they love going to work - I am so lucky to be one of them, and I pretty much have loved going to work my whole career! 

I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing destinations and had lots of adventures:

I absolutely love everything about Greece - the people, the food, the culture and the amazing beaches. 

Tallin is the most amazing city that I have every visited, it was like being inside a fairytale, the buildings are stunning, the folk stories are magical, and the town square is jaw dropping. 

The most beautiful place I have ever visited, has to be Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka moved me to tears on a daily basis - the vibrant colours of the tea fields, the gentle nature of the people, climbing Lions Rock was a huge achievement and the views were stunning. The icing on the cake - a beautiful Elephant walking along the beach at sunset, I bet you can see why I cried!

To be fair, I have loved everywhere I have been: Spain, Madeira, Balearics, Canary Islands, Malta, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Andorra, Croatia, Budapest, Prague, Tallin, Cyprus, Morocco, Cape Verde, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Malaysia, Canada, America and the Caribbean.

There still lots on my never-ending bucket list - Peru, Boliva, Argentina is at the top - followed closely by India, Shimla and then I would love to do a Nile cruise.

Travel is my passion and I hope that this shows when I am chatting to our customers. I feel so privileged to be able to help inspire our customers and hope that they love booking their holidays with Arundel Travel.
